Whether you want to remodel or start a room from scratch, thinking through the process is key. First, you want to come up with a plan that gives you an overview of what you already have and what types of spaces you want in your home. Here are some ideas to get you dreaming and give you an idea of where to start!
Start your home plans practically!
Do you have so many different ideas you don’t know where to start?! Just write it out already! First, make an overview of your already built home and what each room is being used as! Write it out, draw it out, whatever makes sense to you. Once you do this, figure out what kind of space you want to add. Then decide if you want to remodel a room completely or add on a room to add space to your home plans!
Get creative with your space!
If you have a space that is already occupied but can use a little TLC, get creative with what you could use it for. You could transform your extra space in your laundry room into a mud room. Make your guest room into a multi-purpose room, like an office/bedroom! Or even remodel your attic into a playroom for the kids! Don’t be afraid to get your creative juices flowing when designing your home plans!
Come up with a budget plan!
This step is so important to take before talking to any type of home remodeling company! You want to make sure you and your spouse are in agreement of how much you are willing to spend for your home remodel. This will make it easier to eliminate or add things to your home plans, and it will help when you talk to your designers and builders!
